Movie Review: Push

Was extremely excited to see this movie and my buddy(gatorbait015 - on youtube) let me borrow it!

Pre-thoughts:

-Good cast (I really like the first two listed): Chris Evans (Fantastic Four/FF:RotSS - Human Torch), Djimon Hounsou (Blood Diamond and Never Back Down), Camilla Belle (10,000 BC and When a Stranger Calls) and Dakota Fanning (Coraline, Man on Fire, Hide and Seek and War of the Worlds).

-Had a feeling it would be a knock off of Heroes and I love Heroes, so I was really excited.

-Plot: Chris Evans and Dakota Fanning have special abilities and must find a girl in Hong Kong before a crooked government organization called Division does.

Thoughts:

-Dakota Fanning was pretty annoying in this movie. She is usually hit or miss for me and she just annoyed me.

-The powers are really neat:

NOTE: If you don't want to read about the powers and find out in the movie, skip forward!!

-Pusher: They can push lies, memories(that never even happened) and even emotions into the minds of their target. The target believes anything and everything the Pusher says.
-Watcher: Can self induce visions of the future. It's just like a prolonged deja vu.
-Stitch: Psychic healers/surgeons who can quickly reconstruct cells to their previous/healthy state.
-Bleeder: They create high-pitch sonic vibrations that rupture their targets blood vessels. They are more of an assassin type.
-Sniff: Can track the locations of people or objects over varying distances just from smell.
-Shifter: Can temporarily shift the way an object looks to the human eye. Example: a piece of paper cut to look like a dollar bill, they can transform into a $100 bill.
-Shadow: Used to block the visions of sniffs and to temporarily block the Watchers visions.
-Wiper: Can temporarily or permanently remove memory.

-I liked how they didn't complicate the powers like sometimes Heroes does, everything flows together well.

-A lot of people disliked or hated this movie, but I for one, really enjoyed it.

-Story line kept interesting, they were sure to throw in a couple twists to keep the story fun and active.

Overall:

This will be a movie I purchase on DVD when I can find it. I personally wouldn't pay more than $5 for it, but that is what I usually pay for DVDs now-a-days.

7/10
